Johann Gottlob Ficker Violin - 1790

A well-preserved example from the renowned Saxon violin maker Johann Gottlob Ficker, active in Markneukirchen during the late 18th early 19th century. Ficker worked in the Stainer tradition, producing instruments with high arching, elegant outlines, and warm, resonant tone. This violin, dating from around 1790, represents his mature craftsmanship and is typical of the quality associated with the Ficker family of makers. Often branded internally with “I • G • F”, his instruments are sought after for both their historical value and tonal character.
