Bach Stradivarius Model 16 Valve/Slide (Model 12) Trombone – Super Mint Condition

Valve trombones offer a unique playing experience that’s distinctly different from slide. The Bach V16, for example, uses the same bell section as the Bach 16 slide trombone—so the tone has similarities. But the feel is noticeably different due to the monel piston valves, which add resistance and a distinct response. The valve slide section has a 3rd valve tuning slide that can be used similarly to those on a trumpet.

This makes the V16 an ideal choice for trumpet doublers who want to add trombone to their toolkit without learning slide positions. It’s also a perfect option for high school or college jazz bands that are short on slide trombonists. A baritone or euphonium player can easily make the switch and contribute to the section with minimal adjustment. The V16 is not just a workaround—it’s a fully capable professional-level horn in its own right.
